Within its efforts to extend and make
autism known in society, the Fundación
Orange participated in the Maria y yo
(Maria and I) documentary adaptation
of the comic on autism by the Spanish
artist Miguel Gallardo. A delightful play
that the artist has, in a natural
humourous and tender way, related the
relationship he and his autistic daughter
have on their holiday.

Believing that communication is vital to the development of society and the fulfillment of individuals, Fundación Orange
is committed to promoting philanthropic projects in three main areas: disability, education and culture, in line with the Orange Foundation Group activities worldwide.
In particular, Fundación Orange has a special focus on helping people with autism welcoming them with dignity, and fostering social integration. In addition, information and communication technology is used as an important tool in many projects to improve the lives of people with communication barriers.
Some projects in autism
A set of communication, leisure and planning applications run on a mobile phone or a laptop, helping to improve the quality of life and independence of people with autism and/or intellectual disabilities.
PICTOGRAM ROOM
Using Augmented Reality to teach people with ASD to understand pictograms creating a virtual space with highly customizable educational activities. The project is developing a system, allowing the possibility of using superimposed pictograms on real objects to understand the connection between a real image and pictogram.
TALKING WITH ART
This initiative aims to emphasize familiarisation with museums
and creativity in general of people with ASD, working on
cognitive stimulation and the enjoyment of perception, ability
to discriminate and understand, through art. This is carried
out on a weekly basis in several important Spanish Museums
and also in classrooms in Madrid.
E-MINTZA
This project will pursue, research, develop and facilitate free access to a portable communication system, based on the surroundings of the user, easily customizable for the language used, texts, images, videos or sounds, depending on the needs of the disability (non verbal and/ or illiterate) user.
SUPPORTIVE EYES
This website based on Person Centered Planning (PCP) methodology facilitates the work of professionals and families surrounding the person with autism to help them to realise their potential.
PILATES AND AUTISM
This project provides Autistic children with a new leisure activity, in an area where there are not a lot of activities adapted to their needs. The course aimed at children with autism, to experience the physical and mental qualities of Pilates and thus gain greater control and balance over their bodies.
SPQR
The project consists of a system that uses the advantages of QR codes to facilitate access to information, interaction with the environment and thus increase personal autonomy. Placing QR code tags within the user surroundings, this system can facilitate the recognition of objects, generalization, literacy education, etc.
In-TIC
An application to easily access a computer and a communicator thanks to a support system allowing a tutor to customize the use of all features and programs for the disabled person.
